Woodworks: the Last Word in Refined Rustic

You know the quote by iconic jeweler Harry Winston, “People will stare: make it worth their while”? Wait, you don’t? That’s okay. You’re still a good person. Anyway, being a diamond mogul and once-owner of the Hope Diamond, I assume Winston was talking about jewelry. However, I love this quote and have decided to hijack it for our journey today.

Are you still reading? Okay, good.

So let’s talk about frames worth a second glance or stare. Actually, go crazy and take some second and third glances–you know you want to! With their stunning new Woodworks frames, our friends at Nurre Caxton have redefined the look of wood moulding.  It’s the best thing to happen to natural woods since… well, the Shakers.

You’re welcome.

Let’s focus, though—shall we?

Who wants to talk about the Shakers when we have our new frames to obsess about?

No matter the style of your home, Woodworks will be at home anywhere, framing just about anything!  With rich, earthy tones that are closer to a color-wash than a stain, these new frames add a transparent touch of color, allowing all of the natural wood-grainy, finger-joined beauty to come through. It’s how woodsy-chic is done, you guys.

Are you seeing this? Gorgeous wood grain for days.

Just look at the subtle color variations on these frames! Enough said. (But I’ll say more anyway: that’s why we’re all here after all.) Woodworks’ profile is sleek and modern enough for all of you hip minimalists who think that natural wood frames are only for those Country Living fans.

(Sorry Mom—you continue to have amazing taste despite your lifelong subscription.

And all of you other Country Living fans? Again, still good people.)

Good Will Toward Men

“Peace on Earth. Good will toward men.” Peace on Earth—lately it seems less attainable than ever before. Good will to men, on the other hand… well, that can be achieved every single day.  What if an abstract holiday phrase suddenly became a reality of our everyday existence?  What if “good will toward men” simply looks like

a little more compassion…

a few more smiles…

a bit more generosity…

a touch more kindness…

a willingness to give more, help more, love more.

I recently heard someone say that “our gift to each other this Christmas season, and all seasons really, should be to make ourselves people of good will.” In a creative business that is so driven by deadlines, by volume, by the next new design−it is so easy to lose sight of the significance behind the many projects entrusted to us. But in our corporate offices here at Hall of Frames, we see good will put into daily practice by the clients we serve.

Good will−an ideal best captured in a holiday song? No. It is a realistic, worthwhile, daily goal.  We feel so privileged to be a small part of the good will that is spread every day, every season, every year by our valued clients. We are inspired by you, and we honor you this holiday season. Thank you for entrusting us with the creation of your projects! But most of all, thank you for giving meaning to our work and for allowing us to share in your continuing good will to men.

Merry Christmas!

Ren-o-vated, And It Feels So Good

New walls, new floors, new counters, new lighting, new frames, new energy. ←Please continue reading despite the fact that my opening sentence was a fragment. Well, it has been a long time coming, but Paradise Picture Frame–our store on the corner of Thunderbird and Tatum–has gotten a much-needed facelift this month. Do people still say facelift? Is that still a thing, or are we strictly calling it plastic surgery now? Anyone?

It has been amazing and sometimes frightening (hello, irrational fear of ladders) to see our stellar sales staff and framers navigate the surrounding demolition rejuvenation to perform their creative magic on your artwork. Because you guys, closing down during construction is for amateurs. That’s right Starbucks down the road, I’m talking to you. You couldn’t even keep the drive-thru window open for us? I mean… a little drywall dust in the ol’ morning latte never killed anyone. I think.  #science

Oh and just to be clear, zero construction took place in our warehouse or framing production rooms. And no artwork was harmed in the process, in case you were concerned. You totally were. Admit it.

So I know you’re expecting some sort of shameless advertising right about now. Some “come on down! We have hot dogs and balloons and cookies” type of bribery. Mmm…cookies. But really, how did a free hot dog become the symbol of open houses, (open homes? no—definitely open houses) and business re-openings everywhere? Just asking the question. I mean no offense, Oscar Meyer.

Seriously though, stop by and check out our new look. Will it change the quality framing you’ve come to trust here at the Hall of Frames? Nope. But don’t we all feel better when we look better? Yes, we do. And don’t we have a new excitement and energy when we feel better? Absolutely. And don’t we… Okay, I’ll stop now.

In all sincerity, we look forward to serving you with the excellence that we have done for the last 40 years—only now in prettier surroundings. We echo the great poet Robert Browning in feeling that here at the Hall of Frames  “…the best is yet to be!” And with that said, onto some glamour shots of our new space.
